Childless, but they raised three foster children: 1. Soffía 2. Sveinn 3. Lilja.

They emigrated west in 1887 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, together with Ólafía’s parents, Guðmundur Finnbogason and Guðlaug Eiríksdóttir, and their children. Guðmundur and Ólafía settled in the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota and lived there four years. Guðmundur had been a fisherman in Iceland and the prairies of N. Dakota did not suit him, so they moved north to the Lundar Settlement where he could fish in Lake Manitoba. They moved to the Siglunes Settlement on the north side of the lake and took property on a small spit of land in the lake. From then on, the land has been called Isberg’s Point. They lived there 35 years before moving to Lundar in 1930.
