Ólína emigrated west to Canada in 1902. Magnús came west with his parents in 1883. Magnús was a farmer in Saskatchewan 1906 -1911, then they moved west to Alberta where he bought land in Peace River in 1911. They lived there until 1948 when they moved west to the Pacific.
