Páll Bergsson was born on February 18, 1858 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. He died in Iceland on April 28, 1920.

They came west to Winnipeg in 1887 and lived there until 1891. That year they moved south to Duluth, Minnesota where Páll ran a dairy farm. He moved to Iceland in 1908 and lived in Reykjavík. Sigríður continued the operation of the dairy farm with the help of her sons.
