Páll Guðmundsson was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1826.
Spouse: 1) Solveig Bjarnadóttir d. in Iceland 2) Sigríður Jónsdóttir b. in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on January 3, 1833.
Children: With Solveig: 1. Jóhann Frímann b. 1857 2. Þorkell b. 1858 3. Kristrún b. 1861 4. Sigurður b. 1864 5. Jón b. 1869.
Páll and Sigríður emigrated to Winnipeg in 1886 and first stayed with Jóhann Jóhannsson, Sigríður’s son, and his wife Friðrika Jónsdóttir. They traveled together north to Mikley in 1889 and later spent some time in the Isafold Settlement. In that settlement, Jóhann and Páll each built log cabins and named their land Sigríðarstaðir in honor of Sigríður, Páll’s wife and Jóhann’s mother. About 1897, Páll and Sigríður moved south to N. Dakota where two of Páll’s sons lived.
