Pétur Valgarðsson was born in Reykjavík on December 31, 1843. He died on October 14, 1918. He took the name Peter Valgardson in Utah.

February 5, 1893. She took the name Soffia Valgardson in Utah. 3) January 10, 1894 Jóhanna Jónsdóttir b. May 2, 1849 in Vestmannaeyjar. She died on March 16, 1916.

Pétur and Kristín emigrated to Spanish Fork, Utah in 1876. Guðrún had emigrated from Vestmannaeyjar in 1874 and Jóhanna came west in 1891. There has been some movement of Icelanders in Utah since the turn of the century, the new province of Alberta Canada was being formed and many people moved there, e.g. Pétur and Jóhanna. They returned to Spanish Fork around 1908 after living for several years in Taber, Alberta, Canada.
