Ragnheiður was the sister of Ingimundur, Guðjón, and Eyjólfur who settled on Lake Manitoba. Árni came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887 with his parents and siblings. They settled in the Geysir Settlement in Manitoba and lived there five years. They moved from there to Winnipeg where Árni married. He moved north to Bluff point on Lake Manitoba and bought land there. In 1904, he moved back to Winnipeg and did well in business. He moved back to his land at Bluff and lived there.
