They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1887. From there, they moved to N. Dakota and settled in the Garðar Settlement where they lived for three years. They moved to the small town of Grafton where Ragúel was a house builder. They lived there until the turn of the century, but in 1904, they moved north to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and took land in Mozart.
