Rannveig Skúladóttir was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1831. She died in Pembina, N. Dakota in 1918.
Spouse: Jakob Espólín born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1829, d. in N. Dakota in 1913.
Children: 1. Jón Magnús, did not come west 2. Sigríður b. 1866 3. Ingiríður b. 1871 died of smallpox in New Iceland. They lost two children while in Iceland.
They came west to Ontario, Canada in 1874. They were in Kinmount for a year before moving to New Iceland and living the first year there in Gimli. They bought land in the Árnes Settlement and named their land Espihól. In the spring of 1881, they moved to Winnipeg and that autumn they moved to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota. They moved back to Iceland in 1901 but encountered hardshps and moved back to N. Dakota. Jakob lived his last years with his daughter Sigríður and her husband, Gunnlaugur Vigfússon, in Pembina.
