Regína Magdalena Sigtryggsdóttir was born in 1879 inS. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died in San Francisco on February 28, 1966.

Regína was the daughter of Sigtryggur Kristjánsson and Anna Benediktsdóttir of Kasthvammur. She went to England in 1906 and from there west to Winnipeg a year later, the same year her parents and brothers emigrated west. She moved west with them from Winnipeg to Blaine, Washington and later to Seattle. She settled in San Francisco with her brother Áskell in 1926 and was successful there.
