Rósa came west in 1883 and settled in Winnipeg. She moved with Þórður to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan in 1886 and lived there until 1906. She moved to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) with her daughter and son-in-law who settled near Elfros. Rósa moved with them to Tantallon in 1914.
