He bought land near Glenboro in the Argyle Settlement in 1890 and lived there about eight years. They moved from there to Winnipeg and lived there four years. In 1902, they moved west to the ocean and bought land south of Blaine, Washington. After Árni died, Sigríður sold the land and moved into the town of Blaine.
