Sigríður and Lárus came west to Ontario, Canada in 1874 and moved south from there to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They lived there for a while but then moved to Michigan where they lived for some time. They moved west to N. Dakota, and on the route, a short stop in the Icelandic settlement in Minnesota. They then settled in N. Dakota, and lived there until the turn of the century before moving to Mouse River.
