Sigríður and Steingrímur came west in 1888 and lived with Jónas Hall, Steingrímur’s brother, in Garðar, N. Dakota for 2 years. They moved to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan in 1890 and lived there a number of months before moving back to N. Dakota. They lived the first six years nears Garðar and the next four in Hallson. The road then led them to Winnipegosis, Manitoba in 1901. They lived there one year but then moved west to Marietta, Washington on the Pacific coast. They lived there six years before moving to Blaine, Washington.
