Sigríður came west to Minnesota with her parents, Jón Eyjólfsson and María Jónsdóttir, in 1883. Albert came west to Minnesota with his parents, Ólafur Jónsson and Elín Eyjólfsdóttir, in 1878. They lived in the Lincoln County Settlement. By 1920, Albert and his wife lived in Minneota. They then moved west to the Pacific coast and lived there for two years before moving to Manitoba and settling in the Cypress Settlement.
