Sigríður Magnúsdóttir was born in Garðar, N. Dakota on February 10, 1889.
Spouse: June 30, 1910 Jón Arngrímsson was born in Duluth, Minnesota on July 31, 1883, d. in Mozart, Saskatchewan on September 2, 1946.

Sigríður’s father, Magnús Magnússon, came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 with his mother, Elín Magnúsdóttir, and step-father, Ólafur Jónasson. They settled in New Iceland and moved from there south to the Garðar Settlement in 1881. Sigríður’s mother was Valgerður Kristjánsdóttir of Skagafjörður. Jón’s parents, Arngrímur Arngrímsson and Þorbjörg Magnúsdóttir, came west to Duluth, Minnesota in 1882 and from there to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota in 1885. Jón moved to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1905 and lived there the rest of his life. Sigríður contributed to the community and the village Mozart, she worked in the women’s association Viljanum for 46 years.
