Sigríður Sigurðardóttir was born in W. Landeyjar on July 26, 1874. She died in Gimli, Manitoba on August 15, 1962. She took the last name Goodman in the west.
Spouse: 1908 Guðmundur Guðmundsson b. July 10, 1874, d. January 10, 1912.
Children: 1. Sigríður Lilja b. August 30, 1911 2. Ragnhildur Ásta b. August 30, 1911.
Sigríður grew up in Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) and started working for herself at a young age. She worked mostly in fish processing but was also a housekeeper. She came to the West with relatives in 1924 and settled in Manitoba. Sigríður Lilja probably came west around the same time, she married a Canadian man in Winnipeg. Sigríður was first in Selkirk, then eight years in the Hnausa settlement before she went to the Betel residential home in Gimli.
