Sigrún Sumarrós Sigvaldadóttir was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on July 20, 1892. She died at Betel in Selkirk on January 20, 1977.
Spouse: 1) 1921 Jón Sigurðsson b. September 1, 1870 in S. Múlasýsla, d. May 17, 1935 2) June 17, 1950 Friðrik Eyfjörð Guðmundsson Nordal b. May 19, 1889 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla.

Sigrún came west alone to British Columbia in 1910 and spent a year in Wardner. She moved from there to Winnipeg and for sometime at Winnipegosis before she became a housekeeper for Jón Sigurðsson in the Víðir settlement. She lived there in a settlement until 1941, then moved to Selkirk, where she later met Friðrik. She moved with him to Saskatchewan where they lived for a few years, then returned to Selkirk.
