Sigþrúður Gísladóttir was born on April 21, 1879 in N. Múlasýsla. She died in New Iceland on January 21, 1917.
Spouse: March 10, 1902 Sveinbjörn Jónsson b. in S. Múlasýsla on February 17, 1878. He had the name Sveinbjörn J. Eiríksson in the west.

Sigþrúður was the daughter of Gísli Jónsson and Vilborg Ásmundsdóttir, early settlers in the Árnes settlement in Manitoba. Sveinbjörn was the son of Jón Eiríksson and Petrína Jónsdóttir. He moved to Nova Scotia, Canada with his father and his family in 1879, to Winnipeg in 1882, and lastly to New Iceland in 1885. Jón took land there and named his farm Lund. Sveinbjörn lived there the rest of his life.
