Sigurður Andrésson was born in 1855 in Rangárvallasýsla. He took the last name Anderson in the west.

She had two sons with him: 1. Sveinbjörn b. December 10, 1884 in Hallson, N. Dakota 2. Guðmund. All children are list with the last name Anderson in the Census of 1895.
Sigurður came west in 1886 and settled in Hallson, N. Dakota. A year later, Þuríður Gottskálksdóttir came west with their children, Guðbjörg, Sigurður, and Stefán. Sigurður and Ólína lived in Hallson for eight years then moved from there to Roseau, Minnesota. From there, the road led a few years later to the Pine Valley Settlement in Manitoba. They built a farm on their land and lived there until 1918, then moved back to Hallson, N. Dakota. Sometimes the village west of Hallson was called Beaulieu. Sigurður spent some time after that on the west coast in Blaine, Washington but later returned to N. Dakota.
