Sigurður Jóhannsson was born on August 24, 1850 in Dalasýsla. He died in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on December 18, 1933.
Spouse: November 11, 1880 Solveig Kristjánsdóttir b. 1859 in Ísafjarðarsýsla, d. February 5, 1921.
Children: They had eight children, three died in Iceland and five in Canada. 1. Sigurveig b. 1880 2. Ingibjörg b. 1884 3. Jóhann b. 1886 4. Solveig b. 1889. These came west with their parents; information is missing on the 5th child who came west.
They came west from Reykjavík in 1892 and traveled to Winnipeg. They were there for some time, but then settled in Keewatin, Ontario where they lived for 12 years. Their life’s road then led them west to the Pacific, living first on the Point Roberts peninsula in Washington but then in Vancouver.
