Sigurlína Ingibjörg Baldvinsdóttir was born on March 19, 1898 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. She died at Betel nursing homein Gimli in 1878. She took the last name Johnson in the west.

Spouse: Jón James Eiríksson b. September 26, 1881 in Minneota, Minnesota, d. in Arborg in 1942. He took the name Jon James Johnson in the west.

Children: 1. Harold Niels b. May 26, 1925 2. Hildur Jónína b. August 29, 1929.

Sigurlína was the daughter of Baldvin Jónsson and Ingibjarg Pálsdóttir, who came west from Skagafjörður in 1900. They moved south to live near relatives in Milton, N. Dakota and lived there two years. They moved north to Manitoba and took land near Arborg.  Jón grew up in the home of his parents Eiríkur Jónsson and Vilborg Stefánsdóttir in Minneota, Minnesota. From there, the family moved to Duluth and later to the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota. In 1901, the family moved to Canada and took land near Arborg, Manitoba. Jón began farming and lived there the rest of his life.
