Sigvaldi Sigurðsson was born on July 2, 1881 in Húnavatnssýsla. He died on July 8, 1955. He took the last name Vidal in the west.
Spouse: August 24, 1911 Guðrún Sigríður Jónsdóttir b. February 29, 1892 in the Árnes Settlement in New Iceland. She died on December 16, 1878.

Sigvaldi came west with his parents, Sigurður Jónsson and Kristín Grímsdóttir, who settled in the Hnausa Settlement and where Sigvaldur grew up and lived the longest. Guðrún was the daughter of Jón Jónsson of Þykkvabæ in Rangárvallasýsla and Þórdís S. Guðmundsdóttir of Kumblavík at Langanes.
