Solveig Bjarnadóttir was born in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on May 2, 1870. She died on October 28, 1958 in Lundar.
Spouse: 1) Jón Þorvaldsson b. in Mýrasýsla on May 4, 1870, d. in Manitoba on June 2, 1907. He took the last name Thorvaldson in the west. 2) Ármann Þórðarson b. December 31, 1868 in Borgarfjarðarsýsla, d. October 13, 1929.
Children: With Jón: 1. Bjarni b. 1896 2. Þorvaldur b. 1897 3. Helgi b. February 21, 1898 in Winnipeg, took the last name Borgfjörð in the west 4. Óskar b. August 10, 1901, d. August 21, 1944 5. Laura b. May 21, 1903 6. Margrét b. August 10, 1905, d. April 18, 1969 7. Jenný b. March 27, 1907, d. December 6, 1971. With Ármann: 1. Rútur Thor b. 1910, d. 1969 2. Dóra b. December 3, 1911 3. Kristín (Christine) b. May 17, 1914.
Jón and Solveig came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1897. They moved to Stony Mountain where Jón got a job digging a mine. He died of lung disease in 1907. Solveig then moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a seamstress for several years, but then decided to move to the Lundar settlement where she took land. She and Ármann moved to land near Suffren in the northeastern part of the Lundar settlement. They moved from there to Lundar.
