Spouse: Björg Jósefsdóttir b. December 16, 1886 in Minnesota. She had the name Bertha Asbjornson in the west.

Stefán was the son of the physician Fritz Wilhelm Zeuthen and his wife Thora Emelie Rasmussen, both Danish. Stefán’s brother had moved west to Minnesota in 1886 and Stefán moved there shortly after the turn of the century. In the Minnesota Census of 1905 he is listed as living alone in his house in Minneota and worked as a carpenter. Björg was the daughter of Jósef Ásbjörnsson and Ólafía Steinunn Valdimarsdóttir who came west in 1879. When they decided to move west from Minnesota to Montana, Stefán and Björg moved with them and were listed in Fergus, Montana in 1918. In 1930, they moved west to Portland, Oregon.
