Stefán Oddleifsson was born in Strandasýsla in 1864. He died on March 13, 1903 in a house fire in the Hnausa Settlement.

Stefán emigrated west to Winnipeg in 1885. He worked in carpentry and trade for a number of years. Stefán and Sigríður moved to the Hnausa Settlement. After the fire in 1903, Sigríður moved to the Geysir Settlement.
