Stefán Stefánsson was born in Húnavatnssýsla on June 21, 1870. He died in Upham, N. Dakota on January 29, 1952.
Spouse: 1) 1894 Elísabet Þorbjörg Geirhjartardóttir b. July 10, 1874 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla, d. December 12, 1922 2) March 7, 1925 Þórunn Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir b. in New Iceland on September 4, 1880, d. in Cavalier, N. Dakota on February 8, 1961.

Stefán came west to Winnipeg in 1888 and moved from there to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota. He made his way to the Mouse River Settlement in 1896 where he lived a long time. Elísabet came west in 1881 with her parents, Geirhjörtur Kristjánsson and Guðfinna Jónsdóttir, and siblings. Stefán and Þórunn moved to Upham where they lived in their later years.
