Steinvör Arnfríður Bjarnadóttir was born in Húnavatnssýsla in 1873. She died in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan on October 15, 1952.

Steinvör was the daughter of Bjarni Dagsson and Sigríður Eggertsdóttir. Þorsteinn came west with his parents to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876. They settled in New Iceland, but moved from there in 1880 to the Thingvalla settlement in N. Dakota. Þorsteinn took land in the Lakes settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1905 and the family moved there a year later.
