Sveinbjörg Sveinsdóttir was born in 1889 in Efriey in W. Skaftafellssýsla. She died in Saskatchewan in 1973.
Spouse: 1915 Sigurður Guðnason b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1879, d. in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnbyggð) in 1957.
Children: 1. Lára (Laura) b. 1919 2. Hafsteinn b. 1921 3. Karl (Carl) b. 1923. Their first born, Hafsteinn, d. 1918.
Sigurður came west with his parents and siblings to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893. He grew up in the Argyle Settlement and took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1906, living in the Kandahar/Dafoe area. Sveinbjörg was the daughter of Sveinn Ingimundsson and Karítas Þorsteinsdóttir of Efriey, W. Skaftafellssýsla. Her brother was the painter Jóhannes Kjarval. She came west to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) to visit her sister Olga (Olgeirína) who had come there, and there she met Sigurður. Sveinbjörg visited Iceland in 1964, with her sister and three brothers.
