Þórarinn Bjarnason was born on June 17, 1849 in W. Skaftafellssýsla. He died on February 21, 1924 in Springville, Utah.

Þórarinn and Brynhildur emigrated west to Spanish Fork, Utah in 1883 with three of their children: Rannveig, Gunnar, and Brynhildur. Jóhanna Jónsdóttir, Brynhildur’s mother, brought the other children Jónína, Jóhannes, and Stefán in 1855. Þórarinn lived a number of years in Spanish Fork, but moved with Ingveldur to Castle Valley and later to Springville, Utah.
