Þorbjörg came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with Eggert in 1900. Here she met Gunnar, who had come west in 1887. Together, they moved to Gimli where Gunnar died in an accident a few years later. Thorbjörg moved to the Geysir Settlement in 1913 and to Riverton in 1924.
