Þorgrímur and Þorbjörg came west in 1888 and moved with friends to Roseau County in Minnesota. From there, the road led them west to the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota. Þorbjörg returned to Iceland after Þorgrímur’s death, then married Óli, and they lived in Gíslastaðir. From there they sailed west across the ocean in 1900 and settled in Pembina, N. Dakota. Þorbjörg is registered there in 1925 and her son Guðmundur lived with her.
