Þorgerður Eysteinsdóttir was born on February 27, 1863 in Dalasýsla. She died on September 16, 1941 in Winnipeg.

Children: 1. Hallgerður Róslaug b. in Duluth on April 12, 1893 2. Marta Emilía 3. Helga Eysteina. Three additional children died young.
Þorgerður came west to New York in 1887 with her sister Solveig. They lived the first year in Sayreville County, but then moved to Winnipeg. Jón came west to Duluth, Minnesota 1887-1889. He moved to Winnipeg in 1893 and lived there until 1896. Life’s road led them to Keewatin, Ontario where they lived 9 years and then to Selkirk where they lived 7 years. They moved to Winnipeg and lived there the rest of their lives.
