Þórunn Björnsdóttir was born in N. Múlasýsla in 1881. Died in Missouri April 11, 1943.

Þórunn emigrated west to Minnesota in 1900 and settled in Minneapolis where she worked as a maid.
Þórunn flutti vestur til Minnesota árið 1900 og settist að í Minneapolis. Vann þar við þjónustustörf. Minnesota census 1905 lists her renting an apartment along with another Icelandic girl, C. Björnsson, probably her sister Sesselja who emigrated in 1901. Þórunn snd her husband moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1910 and in 1920 she is listed as a patient in hospital. Roland, her son, was sent to Seattle to live with Sveinn, Þórunn´s brother. She recovered from her illness.
