Þórunn Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir was born in Dalasýsla on June 25, 1860. She died in Ontario on July 6, 1935.
Spouse: August 18, 1884 Jón Pálmason born in Ísafjarðarsýsla on January 1, 1864.
Children: Sigurjón Hjaltalín died as a youngster in Keewatin. They also had a foster son Hannes Jón Harald, the son of Guðrún Hannesdóttir and Pál Guðmundsson Harald.
Jón and Þórunn emigrated west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with little Sigurjón in 1887. They lived there for the first two years but then moved to Keewatin, Ontario, where Jón worked for Lake of the Woods Milling Co. until the turn of the century. They then moved the edge of the Winnipeg River near the village. Jón fished there and operated a sawmill where he traded a variety of lumber and also sold firewood.
