Tryggvi and Rósa brought Gunnlaugur and Jón with them to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893. They went south to the Pembina Settlement in N. Dakota where they lived until 1920 when they moved to the Vatna Settlement in Saskatchewan. They lived in Leslie.
