Björg and Valdimar last lived in Blaine, Washington. Björg was the daughter of Jörundur Sigmundsson and Auður Grímsdóttir. She came to the West in 1882 with her mother and stepfather, Þórður Gunnarsson, and siblings. They lived in the Garðar settlement in N. Dakota.
