Vilhjálmína Þórunn Oddsdóttir was born in Reykjavík on March 17, 1872. She died in Manitoba on October 6, 1964.
Spouse: September 29, 1895 Kjartan Ísfeld Stefánsson b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on November 14, 1871, drowned in Lake Winnipeg on June 12, 1906.
Children: 1. Anna Rósa b. July 21, 1898 2. Björg María b. 1900, d. same year 3. Björg Þórunn b. January 20, 1902, d. 1956 4. Lilja María b. January 22, 1904.
Vilhjálmína came west to Winnipeg in 1894 with her parents, Rev. Oddur V. Gíslason and Anna Vilhjálmsdóttir. Kjartan came west in 1878 with his parents, Stefán Jónsson and Björg Kristjánsdóttir, who settled in Mikley. Vilhjálmína and Kjartani lived there until he died, then Þórunn moved with her three youngest daughters to Duluth in Minnesota. There, Þórunnar attended a Swedish embroidery and sewing school and she go a good job as a seamstress. She lived there until 1910 when she moved north to Winnipeg. Kjartan was a ship’s captain on Lake Winnipeg.
