Sigríður Einarsdóttir was born in E. Skaftafellssýsla on July 21, 1853. She died in New Iceland on July 19, 1944.

They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 and went directly to the Fljóts settlement in New Iceland. The stay there was short because they moved to the Argyle settlement a year later and after a few years of living among the farmers there, they settled in Cypress River where they lived for a few years but in 1899 they settled in Selkirk and lived there after that.
