Oddur Magnússon was born in N. Múlasýsla on June 24, 1853. He died on July 29, 1936 on Washington Island.

Oddur emigrated west to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1873 and settled on Washington Island where he spent the rest of his days. Guðrún Ingibjörg emigrated west with her mother, Ragnhildi Jónsdóttir, and twin sister María in 1876.
