Þórður Þórðarson was born on September 19, 1831 in N. Múlasýsla. He died on May 18, 1904.
Spouse: 1) Kristín Sveinsdóttir b. 1830 2) Kristín Þorsteinsdóttir b. September 19, 1845. She died in Ontario. 3) Rósa Ólafsdóttir b. December 17, 1850, d. March 20, 1915.
Children: With Kristín Sveinsdóttir: 1. Guðmundur b. 1854 2. Guðríður b. 1857 3. Þórður b. 1862. With Kristín Þorsteinsdóttir: 1. Sigurbjörg b. March 2, 1877 2. Hjörtur b. in Ontario. He was left there in the care of a Scottish couple. With Rósa: 1. Lára Sesselja.
Þórður and Kristín Þorsteinsdóttir emigrated west to Ontario, Canada in 1878 and lived there several years. She died shortly after giving birth to Hjörtur. The children Guðmundur, Guðríður, Þórður and their half-sister Sigurbjörg moved west with their father to New Iceland. There, little Sigurbjörg was taken in by a foster couple, Gestur Oddleifsson and Þóreyja Stefánsdóttir. Þórður married Rósa and they moved west to the Þingvalla Settlement in Saskatchewan in 1886. Five years after Þórður died, Rósa sold the land, moved west on the plains, and took land at Birch Creek. She later moved to land near Tantallon.
