Hólmfríður Einarsdóttir was born on February 22, 1832 in N. Múlasýsla. She died in N. Dakota in 1904.

Children: 1. Margrét b. May 8, 1857 2. Björg b. September 16, 1862 3. Ólöf b. 1864 4. Guðrún b. 1867 5. Magnús b. November 28, 1869 6. Björn b. July 18, 1881 7. Halldór b. September 16, 1876. They lost two other children in Iceland: Þorbjörg 1873 and Halldór 1876.
Björn came west across the sea in 1884 and travelled to N. Dakota where he bought land in the Thingvalla Settlement south of Mountain. He lived there until 1897, Björn quit farming and went north to Winnipeg, Manitoba and was there for some time. Hólmfríður did not move with him and instead moved in with her daughters in Garðar where she died.
