Kristín Ingveldur Hallgrímsdóttir was born on May 12, 1873 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. She died on January 2, 1923.

Kristinn was twenty when he came west across the ocean in 1889 and worked for the first years with his uncle Jói Freeman in Argyle. He later settled in Garðar, N. Dakota and worked various jobs in that area. Kristín came west in 1891. Her parents, Hallgrímur Helgason and Kristbjörg Árnadóttir, came west with Kristín’s siblings in 1889. They moved to the Framnes Settlement in 1901 and onto their own land there in 1904.
