Hólmfríður Jónasdóttir was born at Kross in S. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1857.
Spouse: Hjálmar Arngrímsson b. in N. Múlasýsla on September 30, 1855, d. in Washington State on May 17, 1919. He took the last name Anderson in Minnesota, but Vopni in Washington.
Children: 1. Arnljótur (Arlo) b. January 23, 1885 2. Sara/Svava (Carol) b. 1887 3. Hulda b. 1890, d. 1894 in Seattle 4. Egill b. March 7, 1895 5. Hilda b. 1897.
Hólmfríður came west to Canada in 1881 and quickly moved south to Minnesota. Hjálmar came west to Canada in 1876 and worked in a number of places before settling in Lincoln County in Minnesota. They married there and lived there until 1892 when the family moved to the Pacific coast. The 1910 census in Seattle lists Hjálmar’s last name as Vopni and he was a milkman.
