Valdimar Jónsson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on February 12, 1870. He took the name Waldemar or Valdemar Johnson in the west.
Spouse: Ingibjörg Valdimarsdóttir b. 1874 in N. Múlasýsla.

Valdimar came west by sea in 1878 with his mother, Guðrún Halldórsdóttir. They settled in N. Dakota. Ingibjörg came there with her son, Aðalstein, in 1887. Valdimar farmed there, but in 1900 the family is listed in Pohlitz Township in Roseau County, Minnesota. Later, the family moved west to the Pacific and in the 1920 census in Washington, they are listed in Blaine.
