Guðný Þorleifsdóttir was born on November 22, 1844 in N. Múlasýsla.
Spouse: Peter O. Lee of Norwegian descent, d. in Birch Bay, Washingtonin in 1916.
Children: 1. Jón Andrés. Guðný had a daughter, Svava Jónsdóttir b. February 2, 1880, with Jón Þorláksson.
Guðný came west across the sea in 1883, together with her brother, Jón, and his family. On the same ship was Svava’s foster father, Haraldur Pétursson. She and Svava moved south to N. Dakota got a job with a Norwegian farmer, Oli Lee, who was married to Þórunn Halldórsdóttir Jónsson at Litlabakki in Tunguhreppur in N. Múlasýsla. Guðný worked for them for five years, married Peter, Oli’s cousin. The cousins moved west to the Pacific Ocean in the spring of 1888, settling in Birch Bay, Washington. Guðný lived there until Peter died, she then moved to Blaine.
