Sigríður Þorvaldsdóttir was born in 1834 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. She died on November 2, 1921 in Clatsop County in Oregon. She took the name Sarah Witalien in the west.
Spouse: Benedikt Vídalín Halldórsson b. 1835 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. He took the name Witalien or Vidalin in the west.

They came west to Wisconsin in 1873 and later moved to the Icelandic community in Lyon County in Minnesota. A census states that the family liveddin the town of Marshall. Benedikt was registered there as a worker with the name “Witalien”. Sigríður later moved west to the sea with Björg and Halldór and settled in Clatsop County in Oregon.
*Twins, Júlíus and Benedikt Benediktsson, came west at one year of age in 1873 with Dýrleif Björnsdóttir. Vesturfaraskrá p. 291 states that these boys are the grandsons of Dýrleifur. No sources have been found here about this daughter Dýrleifur, but in Western sources the question is posed as to whether they are the sons of Benedikt and Sigríður.
