Þorgerður Jónsdóttir was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on October 24, 1864. She died in a tornado on June 18, 1927 in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð).
Spouse: Friðrik Guðmundsson b. in Víðidal at Hólsfjalla in N. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1861, d. May 3, 1936 in Mozart, Saskatchewan.

They came west to Saskatchewan in 1905 and settled on land near Mozart in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð). Friðrik was a pioneer in the settlement and left many good things unfinished, e.g. he recorded the first chapter of the history of Vatnabyggð, which was published in the Almanak in 1917. He never finished the work due to poor eyesight, he was blind for the last 15 years of his life.
