They came west from Mýri in Bárðardal in 1889 to Winnipeg, Manitoba. They continued on from there to the Þingvalla Settlement west of Manitoba where they took land and lived six years. They moved with their son Steingrímur to Kildonan north of Winnipeg in 1893.
