Áslaug Jónsdóttir was born in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on September 3, 1883. She died in Glen Lake, British Columbia in 1978.

Spouse: 1906 Þorsteinn Jónsson b. April 18, 1866 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla, d. September 26, 1943. He had the name Þorsteinn Gauti Jónsson in the west.

Þorsteinn came west from Gautland to Canada in 1887 while Áslaug arrived in 1903 with her father, Jón Jónsson from Mýri. Þorsteinn lived in southern Manitoba near the Rat River in 1906 and was for some time in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) but they moved from there to Winnipeg. In 1908 they lived in Pembina, N. Dakota, but in 1914 they moved west to the Lakes Settlement and Þorsteinn bought land west of Wynyard. Áslaug moved west to the Pacific after Þorsteinn’s death.
