Anna Bjarnadóttir was born in 1867 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. She died on September 5, 1945 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan.

Anna came west in 1879 with her parents, Bjarni Olgeirsson and Guðrún Ásmundsdóttir, who lived in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota. Sigfús came west in 1882 with his parents, Sigfús Jónasson Bergamann and Þórunn Jónsdóttir, pioneers in N. Dakota. Sigfús and Anna began farming in N. Dakota, moved to Warrington, Oregon a short time after the turn of the century and lived there two years. In 1905 they moved west to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and took land between the Quill lakes. There they tried farming for a few years, but moved in 1909 to Wynyard where Sigfús opened a shop.
